About me

My life is dominated by the pursuit of knowledge. From the architectural evolution of cities to the preservation of obscure video games, I strive to learn everything there is to learn from the moment something interests me. My realm of expertise has traditionally been media, particularly in a historic context. Ever since I began working in journalism as an undergraduate though, my horizon has extended in the opposite direction towards local history.

Reporting on local communities and their sense-of-being was, without question, the most rewarding job I had as a student. Refining those skills and growing my knowledge base, as well as learning how those local institutions intertwine, gave me an appreciation for accessible archive material that I never would've previously imagined. Combining those two passions, through reporting the history of media in my university's native city, produced a news package that won 2nd place at the Broadcast Education Association's Festival of Media Arts in the Television Long Feature category.
